A Day out with Dad

Cameron wanted to go to Denny's and have breakfast with his Dad. Why is Denny's such a fun place to go when you're a kid? As a kid I always looked forward to when my Grandma and Grandpa Bellingham would take us there! I'm glad Cameron is able to make good memories there too. After Cameron ate chicken and fries for breakfast (I know, I know) we headed to the family fun center!

Video games, video games, video games!!! I hate playing them because I'm no good! It's a real ego-deflater when the 6 year old beats you almost every time and then when you finally do win they get mad! Jimmy challenged Cameron, beat him and Cameron was a good sport about it!

Jimmy also won Cameron 6 dinosaurs.....I call these machines "money suckers" but Jimmy was successful...this sucks for me because Cameron told me, "if my dad can do it you can too mom!" Next time you see me ask me the story about the time I spent $40 in one of these machines....lol!

I got stuck playing in the water with Cameron.....I say stuck because I had white shorts on! It was a total set-up, I was the only adult and there were 5 rug rats in there who all ganged up on me. Cameron told me he would not get me wet and he didn't!

Then it was off to the races.....

Who will win?

These cars go so slow.....it's hard to catch people when your the last one out of the gate but they didn't do to badly; "My dad, passed 5 people!"

"Mom, I really love my dad and he drives soooooo fast too!!!"

Back in the water....this time I sat out!

Cameron loves to jump on "other" G&G's tramp, so, of course he had to give this a whirl!

Today was a great day! Cameron and his dad are really enjoying getting to know each other and I'm honored to be a part!

I got the game ball

Do you see a reoccurring theme??? At least Cameron is not the only one...

Oh look, final some action!!
Cameron was able to play pitcher position or as he so proudly calls it, "the mound spot!"

When we got to the game Cameron jumped out of the car and said, "I'm getting the game ball today!" Look what you can accomplish when you put your mind to something!

The Coach said he got it because he stayed in the game the whole time!!!!
Way to go Cameron!

I made another offer......

I made another offer on a house yesterday....the other one is still pending and I've continued to look. The funny thing is this house is in the backyard of the other house......must like the neighborhood! Cameron loved it and already made friends with the neighbors.

Living Room (the fireplace appears to be floating....it needs a little work)

Kitchen

Master Bedroom

Backyard

I like both houses for different reasons. Here are the pros for this house:
  1. it's in a cul-da-sac
  2. 1100 square feet instead of 884
  3. they made the 2 car garage a 1 car garage and now it's a big play room
  4. the kitchen is not a hallway and actually has a little seating area off of it
  5. the back porch is covered
  6. it has sky lights
  7. hardly any flower beds to weed :)
  8. Has an alarm system
  9. laminate flooring throughout...which means only 1 room needs carpet (the play room)

The cons:

  1. has metal windows
  2. no fridge
  3. needs paint (this is a given)
  4. the fireplace is missing the hearth

I will find out tomorrow if they accept my offer!!!!!!

Yummy!!!!

In the kitchen I'm not very creative...I can follow a recipe but it never looks pretty. I can usually score a 10 on taste but the presentation would be -2, at least! Now, my sister Teri her presentation of things is AMAZING (yes, she made that cake)!!! I actually made something today that is pretty and calorie friendly. I probably should change my title because I'm not sure how yummy it really is......I have to wait till dessert time :)

Here is the recipe....you'll be so proud I thought of this in my head and then pulled a couple of different recipes...wow, the story gets better!!!!!

Cookie Crust

2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp canola oil
½ brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/8 tsp table salt
1 lg egg white
¾ flour
¼ tsp baking soda
3 oz chocolate chips (I use mini chips)

Preheat oven to 375. Cream butter, oil and sugar. Add vanilla, salt and egg white, mix thoroughly. Mix together flour and baking soda. Add chocolate chips and stir. Bake in a spring form pan and cook for 6 minutes (just watch it I might of cooked a minute or 2 longer).

Side Note: this recipe makes 24 cookies at a point a piece or I double the recipe and cook in a 13x9 pan and get 48 little bites.

Cream Cheese Frosting

1 (8oz) pkg fat free cream cheese
1 (8oz) tub Cool Whip Free Whipped Topping
½ C Splenda
½ tsp vanilla

Beat cream cheese until soft. Add Cool Whip, Splenda and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Take 1/3 cup and spread over crust. It makes way more than 1/3 cup but hey you have some left over to dip fruit in.

I used 1 cup of strawberries and 1 large kiwi for topping. I also melted 1 tbsp of chocolate chips and spread over top.

If you cut into 6 slices it's 7 points or 8 slices 6 points on weight watchers. It's a little higher than I should be eating but it could be a whole lot worse :)

"Lay off the Cindy Crawford stuff!"

Here is how a conversation went in one of my groups today:
Student 1: Do you have to be at least 21 to have your job?
Me: How old do you think I am?
Student 1: Like, 18 or maybe you're 21...
Me: (laughing) Wow, I'm 35!
(Shocked expressions on all faces)
Student 2: Lay off the Cindy Crawford stuff!!!!!
Me: Cindy Crawford stuff?
Student 2: You know that Meaningful Beauty stuff
Me: Oh!!!!!!
I had no idea what they were talking about...I'm good at pretending and then Google later! Check it out!!!!

Tap, Swing, Slide

Cameron is finally starting to enjoy t-ball!!!! He thinks being #6 is pretty cool since he is 6 and as you see he refuses to tuck in his shirt! Not worth the fight!

Here is Cameron's t-ball ritual...

First, you must tap the plate

Second, swing real hard

Third, slide into home!!!

I tried to get a better picture but I always push the button too soon....better luck next game!

Did I really just see your butt crack?

My Aunt Sheri is heading up the Shade Roadshows in this area and I had the opportunity to hang out with her for 2 days and get paid to do it--bonus! I love my Aunt and don't get to see her nearly enough!!! When I worked retail at Nordstrom it brought out a certain clientele. Costco on the other hand brings out all sorts......

It was late on the last day and Sheri and I were talking to a customer when we both heard someone in the racks. We turned around to see a little girl playing and not 2 seconds later her dad turned around bent over to grab her and YES, his whole butt was hanging out the back of his pants. We laughed so hard...I had to explain it to the customer because he thought we were laughing at him. Free clothes, free food, zip fizz, laughs, memories and time with my Aunt...what more could you ask for??? I can't wait to work the roadshow again in June!

Happy Mother's Day

I hate it when I'm not in the KNOW...I can't stand not knowing what's going on! Especially when it comes to surprises! Cameron and his "other" Grandma had something up their sleeve and I couldn't get it out of him...Yes, I tried....HARD! I came down stairs Sunday morning and there was a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a card.

Cameron was so proud of his gift, "I picked them out myself!" The card was the best...it was a Sponge Bob talking card and it said, "you are my best friend."

Cameron made this day very special...he even gave me a coupon book that said he'll clean his room 1,050 times!!! I'm set for life!!!!!

I worked the Shade Roadshow at Costco this weekend so Cameron was sad when I had to leave but we made up for it when I got back!!!!

I almost booted him off a couple of times....Cameron loves to jump and the higher the better!

Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day!!!!

I think I found the winner.....

I have fallen in love with this chair.....stopped by Stupid Prices today and look what I found. I can get all three piece set for less than $1000 (ok, it's $999)! What do you think about this? I think it screams me!!!!

This is the love seat!!!!!!

I'm so excited I can hardly stand it!!!

Which couch do you like?????

Cameron and I spent FHE couch hunting...fun for me and so so fun for him. We pulled up in front of the furniture store and Cameron said, "look mom it's Mor Furniture for less!" I think he watches too much TV. I was not too excited about their selections. I want a chocolate brown couch--how hard is that?
I want to hear what you think.........my end tables/coffee table is brown/black wood. This couch is $499 but not the color I was thinking. Do you think I should go with this color since my tables are so dark or would chocolate work?

or what do you think of this one....it's $599???

I need interior decorating HELP!!!!!

"That was the most beautiful thing I ever heard"

Last night Cameron and I met up with some friends and had sushi and then went bowling. We had a great time and Cameron was so helpful making sure everyone knew when their turn was and even handed them their ball. I had told Cameron in the beginning that if he bowled then we could play a couple of arcade games before we left. In the 8th frame of the second game Cameron was DONE and all he could focus on was playing video games. I told him to have a seat and I would finish up his turns so we could get done quicker and then we could go play....he did not hear that....all he heard was 'we're not playing video games' and then the meltdown began.

Note to self: Two games is too long and having my son out till 10 pm after getting up before 6 am is pushing it!

I did say we had a great time and up till this point he was good as gold.......then he began to scream, holler, shout, call names and hit. We were out of there so fast.....I told him he was going straight to bed and he could not use a sweatshirt as a blankie tonight. You are probably wondering what I'm talking about....when Cameron hits he looses blankie for 2 days. Last Sunday was not a good day and he lost blankie for 1 week. My son is smart, so as a blankie alternative he grabs a sweatshirt instead.

In the car I was now yelling, screaming and hollering at my son....not proud of those moments! Then there was complete silence....Cameron broke the silence just a few minutes from the house.

Cameron: "Mom, what was your favorite part of bowling?"

I was a little taken off guard and the way he asked was so sweet. I instantly broke down crying.

Mom: "Cameron I love you...I love being with you...taking you places and hanging out with you (by now I sobbing) I love laughing with you...I love you so much it's hard to even express it and tonight was no different...we had so much fun we don't need to fight or argue it's not necessary...I love you....you are my most favorite little boy (I'm sure there was more sap but I can't recall all I said)!!!!!"

In the midst of my sobs and trying to express my love Cameron begins sobbing...

Mom: "Cameron, what's wrong?"

Cameron: "That was the most beautiful thing I ever heard!"
