Turkey Day

We had a very small gathering this year...it was actually really nice (to all my family that is reading this you were missed...really!). Cameron loves turkey...he asked on Tuesday and Wednesday if he could have some...when he woke up Thursday morning he said with a big smile, "today we get TURKEY!!!"

Cameron, Aunt Vicki, Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Dori

My mom made these very cute place settings...cornucopias dipped in white chocolate and pistachio nuts with my favorite treat...Reese Pieces.

Games are always a must...this is junior monopoly...I kicked their cans!!!

Turkey 101

What would we do without video chat? My brother Steve moved to CA in October with his family and this is the first Thanksgiving he has been on his own. My brother Keith drove down there to be with them--so there are three adults and not one knows how to cook the bird! So, Steve called this morning to learn how to cook a turkey via web cam. This is high tech technology!
It's a turkey cook off!!!!
My mom told Steve to stick his hand in the turkey and pull out the junk...he got so grossed out and then said his hands won't fit. Yea, right...your arms aren't that big!

YUMMY!

I was messing around online today and saw I could personalize my own Pringles can. They happen to be Cameron's favorite. After I gave it to him, I had a thought it would have made a cute stocking stuffer...oh well!
Every design you create Pringles will donate $1.00 to Children's Miracle Network

I'm on the NICE list

Just in case you were wondering Cameron made it on the NICE list this year. After watching his personalized video from Santa he asked, "Now let's see who's on the naughty list." I think he was disappointed when I told him Santa would not tell us. Check it out... http://family.go.com/santas-list/video/4372-aijones74/

This is my mom

What a great week...it helps that I just had a four day weekend. Cameron had school on Monday so we planned to have lunch together. He asked me to bring chicken-yaki (translation: chicken teriyaki). I asked if we could share one for lunch and he informed me that the lunch lady says no sharing food. I headed out and met him in his classroom with two lunches in hand. We walked to the lunchroom together and he introduced me to everyone--every Kindergartner, every first grader and even lots of second graders, "this is my mom...she came to have lunch with me." He repeated that over and over. He was so proud to have his mom there at school.

Cameron this next comment is for you...when I was 14 I was a beast to my parents. I was rude, inconsiderate, selfish, disobedient and wanted nothing to do with them--ever! Please I'm begging you when your 14 I would appreciate it if you were still this proud to have me as your mom!!!!! I love you!

A night of firsts...

The unbeatable Wolves had their farewell pizza party Friday night!!! Cameron received his first trophy, "I like it cause it's nice and it has my name on it C-A-M-E-R-O-N and I will like my trophy forever because it's so cool!" He was named Most Improved Player!!!

The best news of the evening was when Coach Mike announced that he will be coaching again next year and keeping the boys all together!!! YEA!!!!

I had to take the trophy away at one point because he was sword fighting!!!!

Until next year!!!!!

It was a night of firsts...first trophy and first sleepover. Am I nuts????
Actually it was a lot of fun...Garett and Cameron played great together. They were in bed by 9:50 and up before 6:45--yikes!

A quick subsitute

Blankie or better yet "him" is not allowed to come downstairs anymore. So, that means no more road trips, no more fights about whether it can come into the store or not, no more tears of sadness, and no more worries about it getting lost. We stopped at the store and I looked back and saw this...I guess anything will do!

Cameron loves Dallin & Dallin loves Cameron

Teri and Dallin left today...it was a very fun and eventful 2 weeks. We won't see them again till April (David you better let them come to California) which seems way too long!!!!

We spent the last night at the Super Mall play area...it's the best one around. We went to South Center the night before and the play area there SUCKED!

We are missing you already...it's so quiet around here tonight! No, one yelling me...me around the house or pushing a chair through the kitchen--what are we going to do?

Love you guys!!!!

Happy Halloween

Halloween was so exciting this year because Cousin Dallin & Kensie were in town to share in the fun! Cameron was Darth Vader and Dallin & Kensie were skeletons.

We started out the night at the ward trunk-or-treat. Cameron was moving around so quickly that I failed to get any good shots. Cameron is making a candy necklace in this picture.

Then we headed out to terrorize the neighborhoods. Cameron didn't want to wear his mask nor carry his lightsaber--he thought the small glow stick made a very cool lightsaber.

Last year Cameron wanted to get to the door first and always be two steps ahead of Kensie. This year he waited for them and let them have a knock or two. Then Dallin chased a kitty right into a house...it was hilarious! Cameron did that a few years ago and it's embarrassing. The lady who owned the house did not seem amused.

Whenever we all get together for a "kid" function the adults out number the kids!!!! We all had a great time (my mom and Jamie are missing...they did not join us for round 2).

Really Steve....up your nose???

My pictures are a little out of order...too lazy to fix. This is from round one...Grandma and her three grandchildren.

I'm so proud of Cameron tonight...we dragged him every where and he did great!

When we got home Cameron was trying to sort his candy...he really enjoyed handing out candy and would give huge handfuls to the kids!!!

Cameron is very picky about candy and what he likes and doesn't like. I have him put in a plastic bag what he wants to give away. Look at his stash compared to the stash he does not want. Uncle Steve & Uncle David went to town on the giveaway bag.

Cameron got glow in the dark teeth!!! He attempted to run around and scare all of us. Cameron, you are too cute to be scary!!!

One last picture I promise...this was at one of the houses we visited...little disturbing!!!

Trick-or-Treat

I have to give BIG props to Christina Scouten for this adorable treat bag idea...I wish I could say I thought of it all by myself but that would be unfair. Check out her blog for directions and other cute quiliting ideas--Patches Quilt Works.
These bags turned out great...Grandma was nice enough to sew the bags, then she painted and applied the footprints. This year Cousin Dallin and Counsin Kensie are in town so, they will all be sporting cute trick-or-treat bags!!!!

Here is the final product!!!!! Thanks Christina!!!!!

I want chocolate!!!!

As you've read in previous blogs Cameron has struggled with staying on green at school. I attempted to award him with an extra school lunch once he got 5 green days--that reward failed because my kid does'nt like school lunches...WEIRD!!!!! We made a chart with 10 squares and each day he got a green he would mark one off. He decided that when he reached 10 that we would go for ice cream. It's taken us a few weeks but Cameron finally did it. Now, when he gets another 15 he wants to go to Denny's--what???

Cousin Kensie is in town for Halloween and her birthday and Cameron wanted her to come along. Good thing I had a coupon for buy one get one because neither of them finished their ice cream.

Cameron always gets chocolate and Kensie always wants the pink kind!!!

Last Soccer Practice

Soccer has been a great experience for Cameron...we also lucked out with 2 of the BEST coaches ever! Coach Mike & Coach Shannon have been fantastic. I asked them last night if they would coach again next year and I think I heard a big YES!!!!!! Practice ended with a big pig pile!!!!!

Go Wolves!!!! Last game is this Saturday!!!!

Don't hold it by the stem!!!!!

Cameron has been learning about pumpkins all week at school. On Friday he went with his class on their first field trip to Maris Farms--Cameron had a blast! One of the first things he learned was not to carry or pick-up a pumpkin by it's stem. Well...today after church I told him we would carve the pumpkin...he got out a spoon to scrape the inside, he helped me lay out a brown sack for the mess and I grabbed the knife. After I cut out around the stem I went to pull it off, of course by the stem and it snapped off, "I told you don't hold it by the stem...now look at what you did." I had to think quick...Grandma came into the kitchen and said Cameron why don't you paint a face and then I had the brilliant idea to use the stem as the nose!!! Cameron had a great time painting and look at his masterpiece...the nose is pretty cool too!!!!!

Cannonball...

Aunt Teri & Grandma went to Super Saturday at the ward building and guess who they left in charge??? OOPS!!! Cameron loves to jump into pillows, beanbags, whatever he can find. Dallin thought he would give it a try. Sorry David & Teri if you don't approve!!!
